Impressions Photoblog began as an experiment of sorts, blending two forms of artistic expression—photography and writing. In that spirit, I offer my impressions about the featured images displayed in the postings. Also, in response to customers’ interest in all things photography, I expanded the focus of Impressions to include photography-related topics.
Originally, the photoblog was a way to introduce my fine art photography business. Most of my photography consists of images found in nature, presented in strong compositions fused with artistry. I print them by hand on a variety of archival art papers chosen for their distinctive effects and textures to create a lasting impression that won’t fade over time.
I’ve been fortunate to have opportunities to display some of this work as well as make it available for purchase at various venues, including a five-year tenure as a juried artist at the Charleston Farmers Market and for a while as a juried artist and exhibiting member of the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery.
Currently, a portfolio of my work can be viewed at Susan DeTomi Fine Art Photography Portfolio, and I’m thinking about my next adventures in photography.
